Dr. Corey James is a gifted, innovative and multifaceted leader with 11 years of pastoral experience and 20 years of entrepreneurial experience serving as an owner/operator of Avis Budget Rent a Car and a licensed Realtor in the State of Michigan.
In addition, Dr. James is also a Limited License Social Worker in the State of Michigan and has worked in residential treatment for abused and neglected children, substance abuse prevention and school based settings.
Dr. James, known for delivering relevant expository Biblical teaching that provides real life solutions to everyday challenges, is passionate about helping individuals maximize their full potential and living out their God giving purpose.
While serving as pastor of Community Impact Church, Auburn Hills, MI, Dr. James was instrumental in creating a community outreach culture where he directed the implementation of numerous community initiatives during both the Flint water crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic. These initiatives included programs providing food security, grief counseling and a weekly non-denominational worship service for residents at a local assisted living and memory care facility, among others.
Dr. James has a Doctor of Religious Education from Destiny Christian University, a Master of Social Work from University of Michigan, a Bachelor of Social Work from Stephen F. Austin State University and an Associate of Arts in Behavioral Science from Tyler Junior College.
Dr. James has been actively involved in the community by serving on the Auburn Hills Police Department Faith Based Committee, Macomb Food Bank Board of Directors and president of a local Toastmasters chapter. Moreover, he has been a member of Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity since 1998.
Dr. James is married to Lady Tish James, a graduate of Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, Michigan where she obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration. Together she and Dr. Corey have four children, Jeffrey, Jordan, Jared and Joi.
