Meet our Pastor

Dr. Corey James, originally from rural East Texas, is known for his warm Southern charm and ability to connect with people from all walks of life. Driven by a passion to help others maximize their fullest potential, his love for people is evident in his hospitable demeanor and personable interactions. Dr. Corey James is a gifted, innovative and multifaceted leader with 15 years of pastoral experience. His practical and relatable Biblical teachings have revitalized church growth and renewed vitality. 

Dr. James holds a Doctor of Religious Education from Destiny Christian University, a Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan, a Bachelor of Social Work from Stephen F. Austin State University, and an Associate of Arts in Behavioral Science from Tyler Junior College. His professional career spans residential treatment for abused and neglected children, substance abuse prevention, and school-based social work.

Currently, he works as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Senior Program Director, assisting youth impacted by trauma overcome behavioral and mental health challenges. He is also a licensed Realtor and former owner/operator of an Avis Budget Rental Car business, where he generated over $1 million in revenue annually.

An active community volunteer, Dr. James has been a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., since 1998. Married to Lady Tish James since 2010, she is a recent graduate from the University of Connecticut, where she obtained a Master of Human Resource Management degree. She also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Grand Valley State University. Together, they are proud parents of four children: Jeffrey, Jordan, Jared, and Joi.
